Scholar Genie $2,500 Scholarship Contest

This is a skill-based contest, not a sweepstakes. Winners are selected by a panel of judges based on the merit of their essay submission, scored against the published rubric in Rule 6 below. Skill is the predominant factor in winner selection. Void where prohibited.

1. Sponsor

The Scholar Genie $2,500 Scholarship Contest (the “Contest”) is sponsored by Scholar Genie (the “Sponsor”), 759 Via Firenze, Tontitown, AR 72762.

2. Eligibility

The Contest is open only to natural persons who, at all times from the date of entry through the Judging Date, satisfy all of the following: (a) are legal residents of one of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia; (b) are at least 18 years of age or the age of majority in their state of residence, whichever is greater (e.g., 19 in Alabama and Nebraska, 21 in Mississippi); (c) hold an active, paid, good-standing Scholar Genie subscription on a Basic, Pro, or MVP plan (the “Eligible Subscription”); and (d) initiated their Scholar Genie subscription (paid or trial) on or before 11:59:59 PM ET on September 15, 2026 (the “Enrollment Cutoff”).

Enrollment Cutoff. The Enrollment Cutoff exists because the Contest is intended to recognize members who use and benefit from Scholar Genie, not to incentivize last-minute signups solely to enter the Contest. The Sponsor verifies the Enrollment Cutoff against the entrant’s Stripe subscription start date at the time of submission; entrants whose subscription was first initiated after the Enrollment Cutoff are not eligible, regardless of their plan or payment status at submission.

Free trial periods alone do not satisfy eligibility. An entrant becomes eligible only once they have an active paid subscription. Eligibility is verified at the time of submission and re-verified at the close of the Continuous Eligibility Period (Rule 4). A cancellation, refund, chargeback, or any payment failure that is not cured within ten (10) days, occurring at any time before the Judging Date, will disqualify the entrant.

Employees, officers, directors, contractors, and agents of the Sponsor and its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and advertising or promotional agencies, judges, and members of their immediate families (spouse, parent, child, sibling, and their respective spouses, regardless of where they live) and persons living in the same household, whether or not related, are not eligible to enter or win.

The Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law, and is subject to all applicable U.S. federal, state, and local laws and regulations. By entering, entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor and judges, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Contest.

3. Contest Period

The Contest begins at the launch date of this page and ends at 11:59:59 PM Eastern Time (“ET”) on October 31, 2026 (the “Submission Deadline”). The Sponsor’s computer is the official time-keeping device for the Contest. Submissions received after the Submission Deadline will not be considered.

4. How to Enter

To enter, an eligible entrant (see Rule 2) must, before the Submission Deadline, log in to their Scholar Genie account and submit an original essay on the prompt set forth in Rule 5 through the official submission form located at scholargenie.com/scholarship/submit.

Limit one (1) entry per person. Entrants may revise and re-upload their essay any number of times before the Submission Deadline; only the most recent submission will be judged. Multiple distinct entries from the same entrant, or entries from any person who does not satisfy Rule 2 at the time of submission, will be void.

Continuous Eligibility Period. Each entrant must remain in continuous, paid, good-standing subscription status from the time of submission through 11:59:59 PM ET on November 30, 2026. Failure to maintain such status will void the entry.

There is no other method of entry. Because winners are selected based on the merit of their essay submissions, no free alternate method of entry is required or available; this is a skill-based contest, not a sweepstakes.

5. Essay Prompt & Format

How would the $2,500 Scholar Genie Scholarship help you achieve your academic goals, and how do you use AI tools responsibly to enhance — rather than replace — your own learning?

Essays must be in English, between 250 and 500 words (inclusive), and the original work of the entrant. Submissions that are plagiarized, generated wholly by an AI without meaningful human authorship, defamatory, obscene, infringing of any third-party rights, or otherwise unlawful or in violation of these Official Rules will be disqualified. Entrants may use AI-assisted tools (including Scholar Genie) for brainstorming, outlining, or feedback, but the final essay must reflect the entrant’s own ideas, voice, and writing.

6. Judging

A panel of judges selected by the Sponsor (which may include Scholar Genie staff and outside experts) will review all eligible submissions and score each essay against the following rubric, with each criterion weighted equally (25 points each, 100 points maximum):

CriterionWeightDescription
Clarity & Writing Quality25 ptsCoherent structure, strong prose, free of major errors.
Authenticity & Voice25 ptsDemonstrates genuine personal experience and a distinct voice.
Academic Plan & Impact25 ptsArticulates a credible academic goal and how the scholarship advances it.
Responsible Use of AI25 ptsReflects thoughtful, ethical engagement with AI in learning.

On or about December 1, 2026 (the “Judging Date”), the judges will identify the highest-scoring eligible essay; that entrant will be the “Potential Winner.” In the event of a tie, the tied essays will be re-scored only on the “Authenticity & Voice” criterion to break the tie. Skill is the predominant factor in selecting the winner; the Contest does not involve an element of chance. Judges’ decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to the Contest.

7. Prize

One (1) Grand Prize: a $2,500 U.S. cash scholarship, paid as a single lump-sum payment by check or electronic transfer in the winner’s legal name. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $2,500 USD.

The prize is awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied. No substitution, transfer, or cash equivalent of the prize is permitted, except that the Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable for any reason. All federal, state, and local taxes, and any other costs and expenses associated with prize acceptance and use not specified herein, are the sole responsibility of the winner. The winner will be required to complete and return an IRS Form W-9 prior to receipt of the prize, and the Sponsor will issue an IRS Form 1099-MISC if the value of prizes received from the Sponsor in the calendar year totals $600 or more.

8. Winner Notification

The Potential Winner will be notified by email and/or telephone using the contact information on file with their Scholar Genie account, within 5 business days of the Judging Date. The Potential Winner must respond to the notification, complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Release, and (where lawful) Publicity Release, and an IRS Form W-9, within 7 calendar days of the date of the notification. Failure to respond, return required documents, comply with these Official Rules, or maintain Eligible Subscription status through the Judging Date will result in disqualification, and an alternate winner may be selected from among the remaining eligible entries (highest score down).

9. License to Submitted Essays

By submitting an essay, each entrant grants the Sponsor a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to reproduce, distribute, display, and excerpt the submitted essay, in whole or in part, in connection with the Contest, the announcement of the winner, and Sponsor’s marketing materials, in any media now known or later developed, with attribution to the entrant by first name, last initial, and state of residence (or anonymously, at the entrant’s request). Entrants represent and warrant that they own all rights in their submission and that the submission does not infringe any third-party rights.

10. Publicity Release

Except where prohibited, acceptance of the prize constitutes the winner’s consent to the Sponsor’s use of the winner’s name, likeness, photograph, voice, biographical information, opinions, statements regarding the Contest, hometown, and state for promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, in perpetuity, without further payment or consideration.

11. Release of Liability

By participating, each entrant agrees to release, discharge, and hold harmless the Sponsor and its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers, and directors, and the judges (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any and all claims, demands, losses, damages, rights, costs, expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees), and liability of any kind, whether known or unknown, arising out of or relating to participation in the Contest or acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of any prize.

12. General Conditions

The Released Parties are not responsible for: (i) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, printing, typographical, human, or technical errors; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines, internet hardware, software, or network; (iii) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Contest; (iv) lost, late, illegible, incomplete, mutilated, or misdirected submissions; or (v) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Contest.

If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned for reasons including, but not limited to, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes that may corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Contest, the Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest and judge the eligible, non-suspect submissions received up to the point of the action.

13. Disputes; Governing Law

Except where prohibited, each entrant agrees that: (i) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with the Contest, or any prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate state or federal court located in the State of Arkansas; (ii) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the Contest, but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (iii) under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, indirect, punitive, incidental, and consequential damages, and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased.

All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Arkansas, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions.

14. Privacy

Information submitted in connection with the Contest will be used by the Sponsor to administer the Contest (including verifying eligibility and notifying the winner) and otherwise in accordance with the Sponsor’s Privacy Policy. By entering, you consent to such use.

15. Winner List & Rules Request

For a copy of these Official Rules or the name of the winner (available after December 1, 2026), send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the Sponsor address listed in Rule 1, with the request type clearly indicated. Requests must be received within six (6) months after the Judging Date.

16. Not Sponsored by Third-Party Platforms

The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Apple, Google, Meta, Twitter/X, TikTok, or any other third-party platform on which it may be promoted.
